Why are there 3 different versions of Dragon Medical and what is the difference?
While Dragon Medical was designed to meet the needs of all medical practitioners and institutions, the requirements of a 400 bed facility are considerably different than a private two doctor practice. In order to avoid a "one size fits all" approach Nuance has developed three different Medical products, each focused on meeting the needs of a specific type of practice. Dragon Medical
Dragon Medical 10 was designed and priced especially for practices with between 6 and 50 practitioners enabling them to provide more efficient, profitable and higher quality care. This version lets physicians in mid-sized practices navigate any Windows®- and Citrix®-based EMR system using voice commands. Clinicians are able to dictate progress notes, prescribe medication and access test results. Further, when used with an EMR, it gives clinicians the power to dictate while reviewing the full medical record. Dragon Medical SP (Small Practice)
Dragon Medical SP 10 was designed and priced especially for practices with five practitioners or less. It lets clinicians quickly and accurately dictate patient charts, progress notes, and referral letters — three times faster than most people can type. Some of its features include meeting HIPAA guidelines, delivering better quality of care and improving both patient and physician satisfaction. It significantly reduces the time clinicians spend documenting care as well as the costs associated with using a transcriptionist. With Dragon Medical Small Practice, transcription costs can be completely eliminated and dictated reports are instantly ready for signature and for distribution to referring physicians and the back office for billing and reimbursement. Dragon Medical Enterprise
A special version of Dragon Medical designed and priced as a mission-critical, enterprise speech recognition solution for all physicians across a large physician practice, hospital, or health care provider organization, especially in settings where clinicians work in multiple facilities. It offers full network support, seamless integration with all commercial EMR packages, medical specialty and regional accent tools, ability to work with dictation management software to offload final transcription editing in special cases (the new “DragonConnect” capability), and numerous other features to make physicians more productive, delivering the highest quality of care while improving the outcomes and economics across an entire health care enterprise.
